Here are several ways you can show love and support to our remarkable
men and women serving our country. These men and women give great sacrifice

Are Americans Spoiled?
This is the essay we read on the air Thursday morning. Many of you have requested a copy of it.
This was originally quoted as being written by Jay Leno. It was actually written by a gentlman named Craog Smith. You can read the details HERE.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change.
So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, ''What are we so unhappy about?''
Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter? Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job? Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?
Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state? Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?
I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.
Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your belongings.
Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90 percent of teenagers own cell phones and computers.
How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks unhappy.
Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S., yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.
So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by "justifying" them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way......Insane!
Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by the media. Shut off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad.
We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative."
"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, "Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

The University of Oregon's duck mascot has been suspended for a game, after getting into a fight with the Houston Cougar.
The Duck's feathers were ruffled when the Cougar apparently mimicked his trademark move by doing push-ups after a touchdown.
Oregon's athletic director said school representatives must be held to higher standards even if it's just the team's mascot duck.

Having a redneck wedding? You could be on CMT!
CMT Presents:
“My Big Redneck Wedding”
From camouflage tuxedos to arriving at the wedding on an ATV, some couples are going all out to show just how fabulously “redneck” they really are. In front of all of their closest family & friends, these couples commit their undying love for each other with John Deere wedding dresses, shotgun salutes and two-stepping all night long. These couples love to show off their over-the-top Southern style.
Pink Sneakers Productions is currently casting for the new CMT hit series “My Big Redneck Wedding.” This show will document the planning and preparation it takes to pull off a truly fun and down-to-earth redneck nuptial.
We are currently looking for couples who appear to be between the ages of 18 and 45, are planning a super redneck wedding, have set a date somewhere between September to December 2007 and want to share their lives and wedding day with us. The lifetime fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) for the average illegal alien is $55,000 cost to the American taxpayer in a 5-year span. You personally pay $11,000 every year to illegal aliens.
ACTION: Please share this data with elected officials, particularly those who spew the PCBS about all the "contributions of illegal aliens to our society" AND "our economy would collapse without them"! However, NONE of this will matter IF our borders are not secured OR Pres. Bush succeeds in abolishing them (via his SPP, NAU, NAFTA Hwy), and illegal alien murders, drug smugglers and terrorists continue to be welcomed into our country

Contact our Senators about the treatment of the soldiers
What they are doing to our soldiers returning from Iraq with injuries is SHAMEFUL! We must stand up and make our congress change this. Please write and call them all and let them know we WILL NOT REST until this policy of abandoning our soldiers stops AND they open up all of the past cases and re-evaluate their condition and benefits eligibility.

Kid gets fishhook in eye! OUCH!
The Coast Gaurd's emergency operation to free a fishhook from a teenagers's eyebrow is caught on tape.
Two teenage boys were fishing in Lake St. Clair when they caught a walleye.
According to the boys, they tried weighing the fish with the hook in its mouth. The fish flopped off the scale and dislodged the hook from its mouth and the hook flung back and pierced Mike Kouskoulas in the right eyebrow.
“I was a little scared, but I didn’t know if he was telling the truth or not at first, I thought he was joking, but after I saw the severity of the injury, it was a little scared,” said friend, Harrison Steinburg.
Steinburg flagged down the Coast Guards and they attempted to dislodge the hook.
“For a second there, like I almost fainted and everything. You can ask Tim, he was like gripping my arm, and he was holding me. It was pretty scary there for a second, said Kouskoulas.”
His friend caught the emergency Coast Guard operation on his handheld camera and posted it to YouTube.com for thousands of viewers to witness their dramatic night.

Will your relationship last?
Okay, you crashed the wedding and hooked up with the person of your dreams. Do you have what it takes to live happily ever after? Thanks to a 22-question quiz from Dr. John Gottman of Washington University in St. Louis, you can find out. The tests couples on how much they know -- and don't know -- about one another. Answer these 22 questions and then see below to find out what your answers mean.
I can name my partner's best friends.
I know what stresses my partner is currently facing.
I know the names of some people who have been irritating my partner lately.
I can tell you some of my partner's life dreams.
I know my partner's basic philosophy of life.
I can list the relatives my partner likes the least.
I feel that my partner knows me pretty well.
When we're apart, I think fondly of my partner.
I often touch or kiss my partner affectionately.
My partner really respects me.
There is passion in our relationship.
Romance is still part of our relationship.
My partner appreciates the things I do.
My partner likes my personality.
Our sex life is mostly satisfying.
At the end of the day my partner is glad to see me.
My partner is one of my best friends.
We just love talking to each other.
There is lots of give and take (both people have influence) in our discussions.
My partner listens respectfully even when we disagree.
My partner is usually a great help as a problem solver.
We generally mesh well on basic values and goals in life.
What your answers mean:
15 or more positive answers: You have a lot of strength in your relationship.
8 to 14 positive answers: This is a pivotal time in your relationship as there are strengths you can build upon, but do focus on the weaknesses that need your attention.
7 or fewer: Your relationship may be in serious trouble and could be headed for the rocks. If you're concerned about this, it means you probably still value the relationship enough to get help
